PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's track and field teams finished off their first week of action at the Crimson & Gold Invitational Saturday night. The Bison finished the meet taking gold in one event, silver in six events, and bronze in one event.

Taylor James captured the gold in the women's 600 yard run with a time of 1:27.14. She edged out teammate
Adeline O'Connor by 1.55 seconds.

The women's 4x400 relay team comprised of Brooklyn James,
Tizhane Brooks,
Nadia Mooreland, and
Mary McKey placed second with a time of 3:55.87.

McKey (60m Hurdles) and Mooreland (400m Dash) both finished fifth in their respective events.

On the men's side,
Jax Holland (Long Jump), Mahcoe Smith (60m Dash), and
Jared Cheatwood (600 yard run) all won silver in their events.

Joshua Baker brought home the bronze in the men's 600 yard run with a time of 1:16.11.
Shirvante Knauls,
Marcus Petersen,
Zachary Coak, and Holland came together and finished second in the 4x400 relay.
"This week was about getting our feet wet. We haven't had competition since last February, so it was good to get out and compete," said Assistant Coach Frezer Legesse.Â

Up next the Bison will travel to the Washburn Open in Topeka, Kansas, and the Shocker Invitational in Wichita on Friday, Jan. 29.
