OBU Sees Three Wins Against Division I North Dakota

SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist men's tennis team saw its best outing in its three contests against Division I opponents this season as they were able to pull out two singles victories and a doubles victory against the Division I North Dakota Fighting Hawks as UND took the match 5-2.

It was Andres Graterol and Rhett Rollins to get the doubles win at the No. 2 slot, beating Edmond Aynedjian and Jake Kuhlman 6-2. First time partners Matthew Ford and Carson Thoma nearly pulled their doubles match out at No. 3, falling 6-4. Thoma made his first appearance in a match this season due to the Bison being short two players because of injury

Freshman Aaron Brewer played some of his best tennis of his short career, defeating Aynedjian in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3. Rhett Rollins also saw himself capture a victory at No. 4 over Kuhlman thanks to a massive third set, 5-7, 6-4, 6-0. Brewer is 5-4 on the season while Rollins has now won two of his last three matches.

Gianlucca Galdi nearly pushed the Bison to within one point of the Fighting Hawks after taking the first set, falling 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4 at No. 2.

Now 4-5 on the season, OBU prepares for its third conference match of the season when Emporia State comes to Bison Thursday, March 12.
