SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist men's tennis team came into the match already shorthanded as it was without top singles player
Bruno Suiama. With losing Matias Le-Fort to an injury during play, the injury-ridden Bison fell to Northwestern Missouri St. 6-1.
Gianlucca Galdi and
Aaron Brewer came up just shy in their match at No. 1, falling 7-5. OBU's
Matias Le Fort and
Kaey-Den Tan at No. 2 were down 3-2 when Le Fort went down with an ankle injury. Though he stayed in the match, the Bearcats took advantage, winning 6-2.
Not being able to continue on, everyone from the No. 4 singles spot down had to move up a slot.
Gianlucca Galdi was the lone Bison to see a singles victory after dropping the first set, taking it 3-6, 6-3, 4-0 (retired). The senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil has won four singles matches in a row.
The now 4-4 Bison stay at home for two more matches before heading to Pensacola, Florida for a four-match road trip.
