SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist women's basketball team were edged out buy Arkansas-Monticello in Thursday evening match 67-50. The Bison kept the game close in the first half but the Cotton Blossoms made some adjustments at the half and locked down the Bison offense in the second half.

OBU shot 17-48 (35.4%) from the field and went 34.8% from behind the arc.
Charissa Price led the team with 16 points and went 3-7 from behind the arc. She also posted four rebounds, a block, and two steals.
Jaylin Stapleton came in second with 11 points.
Mikayla Shulanberger led the team in rebounds and steals with seven and five respectively. Rayley Farquhar rounded out the top three having posted six points. She went 2-3 from three.Â

The Bison came out strong taking an early seven-point lead. The Cotton Blossoms then surged back but the Bison took a 14-13 lead to close out the first quarter. In the second quarter the Bison traded shots with Monticello and even tied it up at 18 all. The Blossoms then found their groove and took a six-point advantage into the half.Â

In the second half Monticello came out and completely shut down OBU completely. The Blossoms outshot the Bison by 17 in the third. OBU was then able to outscore the Blossoms by six in the fourth, posting three straight threes. Unfortunately, the damage was already done and OBU fell 67-50.

The Bison will close out the season this Saturday, Feb. 29 with tip off set for 1 p.m. OBU will honor its five seniors at the conclusion of the contest.
