SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist's women's tennis team treated its fans to another dominant home win over Arkansas-Fort Smith, 5-2, Tuesday afternoon. Now 3-1 at home, the Bison have outscored their opponents 19-9 in those matches.
Doubles was highlighted yet again by
Melody Holcomb and
Jenna Noel, who earned their third straight doubles victory at No. 3. The freshmen defeated Lady Lions Chloe Ruppanner and Petra Csizmadia, 6-2.
Kim Moosbacher and
Ethne Dowling secured the doubles point for OBU with the two teams splitting the first two matches. Moosbacher/Dowling needed a tiebreaker to do it as they outlasted Bianca Koen and Milena Achlamov, 7-6 (4).
The Bison secured the match quickly in the singles portion as Moosbacher, Dowling, and
Hanna Zubkova at Nos. 1, 2, and 4, respectively, all took their matches in straight sets.
Tahlia Walsh added to the final score with a 7-5, 4-6, 6-2 win at No. 3 against Joanna Potet.
OBU will be right back on Bison Hill Saturday, Feb. 25, when they take on No. 22 Northwest Missouri State at 10 a.m. as the Bison look to make it three wins in a row.
