SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist men's tennis team has played two home matches this season, both being Bison shutouts. For the second time this year, OBU blanketed their opponent at home, with the victim this time around being Arkansas-Fort Smith.
Â
For the second match in a row, the Bison swept through doubles play. OBU secured the doubles point with
Andres Graterol/
Rhett Rollins winning, 6-3, at No. 3 and
Matias Le Fort/
Kaey-Den Tan winning, 6-2, at No. 2.
Gianlucca Galdi/
Aaron Brewer completed the sweep with their 7-5 win at No. 1.
Â
OBU was without their No. 1 singles player
Bruno Suiama for the second time due to an injury he suffered against Drury. That did not seem to affect the rest of the squad as OBU won all six singles matches in straight sets, starting with Le Fort with a 6-2, 6-2 win over the Lions' Ethan Eddleman at No. 3.
Â
The now 4-3 Bison face conference opponent Northwest Missouri State for their next contest on Saturday, Feb. 29, at 10 a.m. OBU is 1-0 in conference play after defeating Newman 4-3. The same day OBU will host Division I Abilene Christian at 3 p.m.
