SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Closing out its road trip in Springfield, Missouri, the Oklahoma Baptist women's tennis team pulled out a hard-fought win over Newman University, 4-3, Saturday evening. With the win, OBU splits its back-to-back, improving to 3-3 on the season.

The Bison found themselves in an early hole, surrendering the doubles point to Newman. OBU's
Melody Holcomb and
Jenna Noel got the lone doubles win, taking their match 7-6 at No. 3.
But OBU stormed back in singles play, earning wins at Nos. 1, 3, 4 and 5 to take the match by a count of 4-3.
Kim Moosbacher earned the victory at the No. 1 spot, defeating Vlada Litvinova in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
Both
Tahlia Walsh at No. 3 (6-2, 6-1) and
Jenna Noel at the No. 5 spot (6-3, 7-5) also earned straight set wins, while
Hanna Zubkova rallied back after falling in her first set to claim the match at No. 4 by a count of 5-7, 6-4, 6-1, against Newman's Emily Young.
The Bison open up a four-match home stand beginning Tuesday, Feb. 25, as they take on Arkansas-Fort Smith at the OBU Tennis Complex at 1 p.m..
