SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Oklahoma Baptist men's tennis team could not find the same magic it had when defeating No. 15 Midwestern St. last Friday. The No. 20 Drury Panthers got the best of OBU on Friday evening, winning 6-1 despite some hard fought matches by the Bison.
Gianlucca Galdi found wins in doubles and singles on his evening. The senior from Brazil got his doubles victory alongside
Aaron Brewer 6-4 at the No. 2 slot for OBU's only doubles victory of the match. The tandem moved to 2-3 on the season.
Galdi fought his way towards his first singles victory of the season after falling behind a set to opponent Augustin Diot. OBU's own bounced back with a consistency that proved too much for Diot, winning the last two sets 6-4 each.
Bruno Suiama and
Aaron Brewer each saw their matches go three sets before ultimately losing at No. 1 and No. 5, respectively. Suiama had to retire in the third set of his match due to injury.
A brief night's rest and the Bison are back at it Saturday at 1 p.m. to face conference foe Newman University.
