Bison Open 2020 at Home With Familiar Foes

SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist women's basketball team returns home this week as they look to take their first conference win of the season. First up OBU will take on Harding at 5:30 p.m. in a Thursday evening affair at the Noble Complex. On Saturday the Bison will complete the week of home conference action with a game against Arkansas Tech with tipoff coming at 1 p.m.
 
McKenzie Cooper comes into the week leading the team with a 15.3 points per game average, while also putting up 10 steals. Ugochinyere Nwarie comes into the contest having put up a career best 34 points in the game against Henderson State last Thursday. Jaylin Stapleton rounds out the top three scorers for the Bison with a 10.6 points per game average. Charissa Price also enters the week having opened 2020 strong -- she put up a double-digit average while in Arkadelphia.
 
The Bison will look to get things back on track as they try to bounce back after a few tough losses to the pair of Great American Conference teams that reside in Arkadelphia. OBU comes into the weekend with 4-8 record, still seeking their first conference win. The Bison are 2-2 at home and Harding comes in with an 0-3 road record and 6-6 overall. Arkansas Tech, on the other hand, comes in with 4-2 conference record having gone 7-3 on the season.

As part of OBU Athletics' #OBUFanuary, all tickets for Thursday's contest are half price. Also, the first 50 students and the first 50 fans will receive an OBU beanie. On Saturday OBU Athletics' will be hosting Kids Day. All children's tickets are $2 and carnival games will be set up in the Hurt Suite.
