SHAWNEE – The OBU baseball team fell to Oklahoma Christian in a wild four-hour slugfest at Bison Field at Ford Park late Tuesday night. The teams combined for 38 runs and 30 hits as 13 different pitchers made appearances on the mound.

Joey Pledger led OBU with a career performance at the plate, hitting three home runs and tallying eight RBI.
Kaden Betsch added three RBI of his own, going 2-5 from the plate.

The game saw four lead changes as the Eagles took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. The Bison battled back, scoring one in the bottom of the first and three in the second to take a 4-2 advantage.

After OC re-took the lead with a five-run fourth, the Bison responded with six of their own and added five more in the fifth to go up 16-9. But the Eagles slowly chipped away, tying the game in the top of the eighth when Hunter Markwardt scored on an error.

The visitors plated four in the ninth to seal the win.

The Bison are scheduled to play a three-game Great American Conference series in Weatherford over the weekend as they take on Southwestern Oklahoma State.
