SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist dropped a pair of softball games to Southern Arkansas on day one of the teams' four-game weekend series. The Lady Bison fell in game one, 16-3, and game two, 9-3.
In game one OBU had a total of seven hits.
Franki Hull and
Katie Long led the team with two apiece. In the bottom of the sixth Hull led off the inning with a single to centerfield.
Aspen Grimes led off the scoring with a ground ball RBI, allowing Hull to score. Later in the inning
Demi Dobbs scored off of an RBI single from
Shelby Savage.
Kristen Grabin rounded out the scoring on an RBI from
Cheyenne Demaree.
In game two, the Lady Bison recorded three hits from
Bry Flanagan, Demaree, and Grabin. In the bottom of the fourth, Demaree blasted a shot to right field for her sixth home run of the season, driving in Grabin and Hull. Demaree is now tied with Dobbs for the team lead with six home runs on the season.
OBU continues the series with a doubleheader starting Saturday, at 12 p.m.
