SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Despite a strong start, Oklahoma Baptist women's lacrosse fell, 17-9, on Thursday in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action against Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.

After taking a 3-2 lead in the first six minutes off goals from
Brooke Harden,
Taylor Skomp and
Lauren McCormack, the OBU offense went cold. The Lady Bison were held scoreless for a 19-minute stretch that put OBU in a 12-4 hole before Skomp stopped the bleeding with a goal with 2:43 left on the clock.

The Lady Bison won the second half, 5-4, with two goals from McCormack, while
Madison Gordon,
Devin Miller and
Shay Morgan each scored one.

"We've steadily improve with each game in conference play this year," said OBU head coach
Jordan Beech. "The trick is to be consistent and put together a full sixty-minute game. Fortunately, we're a young team and still have plenty of room to grow."

McCormack led OBU with her second-straight hat trick, and also became the first Lady Bison player in program history to break the 200-draw control mark after controlling six draws. On the defensive end,
Lauren Scott led OBU with seven ground balls, followed by Gordon with four.

Scott earned her first start in the cage for the Lady Bison, collecting 14 saves on 41 shots faced.

Oklahoma Baptist (2-5, 0-4 RMAC) wraps up the week with a home game against Adams State on Saturday, March 23 at 11 a.m. The Lady Bison will host a free kids' clinic for kids ages 6-12 immediately after the game.
