DURANT, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist stayed alive in its chase for a second straight berth in the Great American Conference post-season tournament with a 74-72 women's basketball victory at Southeastern Oklahoma.
Autumn Avina's layup at the buzzer was the game winner and lifted the Lady Bison to 10-11 overall and 6-9 in league play. OBU is in a three-way tie for seventh with Arkansas Tech and Northwestern Oklahoma. The top eight teams qualify for the conference tournament next month in Bartlesville, Okla.
OBU finished with one of its highest shooting accuracy marks in any game this year. The Lady Bison connected on 29-of-55 shots for 52.7 percent. OBU made 10 three pointers with
Katy Custer leading the way with three.
 The Lady Bison got 24 points from its bench with
Raley Farquhar and
Alexa Richards each hitting big shots down the stretch.
OBU returns home for its next game. The Lady Bison will play nationally-ranked Southwestern Oklahoma Saturday, Feb. 9. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Noble Center.
