SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist closed its two-game softball series with Colorado Christian losing 9-1 Wednesday in Shawnee. The two teams split the series after OBU won the opener 4-3 Tuesday night.
OBU, now 3-3 on the year, will play its next three games at the Cactus Classic in Tucson, Ariz, beginning Friday with a game against Biola (Calif). OBU also plays Black Hills State (S.D.) and Texas-Permian Basin before returning home Friday, Feb. 22 against Northwestern Oklahoma in the Great American Conference opener.
In the 9-1 loss to CCU,
Demi Dobbs supplied all the runs for the Lady Bison when she launched a first-inning home run over the left field fence tying the game at 1-1.
CCU broke open the tie with a pair of runs in the fourth and five more in the sixth to force the run-rule.
