BETHANY, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist fell to Southern Nazarene, 3-1 (25-14, 21-25, 23-25, 23-25), on Thursday night to close out the week with a 1-1 record. Despite the loss, the Bison remain in sole possession of first place in the Great American Conference heading into the final week of the regular season.
After a hot start, the Bison fell in three tightly-contested sets to the Crimson Storm despite OBU playing a cleaner match than SNU.
Malia Leatherland led the way for the Bison with 16 kills, and also dug up 13 balls.
Audrey Poupard was second on the team, laying down a career-high 11 kills to go along with four total blocks.
Rylen Moore led the Bison with 24 assists, while
Diana Carranza had a team-best 23 digs.
Oklahoma Baptist (23-5, 12-2 GAC) return to action next Tuesday, Nov. 12 as they host Southeastern Oklahoma State in the Bison's final home match of 2019. The Bison will be hosting a "Girl's Night" as part of a doubleheader with the women's basketball team. First serve is set for 5:30 PM.
