SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist women's basketball team looks to open its season this weekend in the GAC-MIAA Challenge. OBU will take on host Pittsburg State on Friday, with tip-off coming at noon. On Saturday the Bison will meet Washburn at 5 p.m. to close out the pre-conference challenge.

This will be the first time the Bison will have seen either opponent, having defeated Missouri Southern and Emporia State last season in the GAC-MIAA Challenge.

Charissa Price lead OBU's cast of returners, as coach
Casi Bays' squad welcomes a number of new faces to the program. Transfers
Jaylin Stapleton (Barton CC), andÂ
Ugochinyere Nwarie (Alcorn State), along with freshman
Kalifa Ford, are expected to log heavy minutes early in the season. The Bison also welcome back all-conference guard
McKenzie Cooper, who sat out last season due to injury.
