OBU Defeats Tigers, Will Play for GAC Title

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The OBU women's soccer team avenged its earlier season losses to Ouachita Baptist, defeating the Tigers, 1-0, Thursday afternoon to advance to the championship game of the GAC Tournament for the second straight year.

Hannah White scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 12th minute on a ricochet off the right post. White now owns five goals on the season.

OBU out-shot Ouachita 21-5, with 13 shots on goal to the Tigers' two. Tori Kitchel and Abigail Parker both led the Bison attack with three shots on goal apiece.

Emily Griffith recorded two saves in notching her fifth shutout of the season in goal, bringing her season goals against average down to 0.96.

The Bison will take on the winner of Thursday afternoon's second semifinal between No. 1 SWOSU and No. 4 Harding in Saturday's championship match. Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. at the SWOSU Athletic Complex in Weatherford.
