SHAWNEE – The OBU women's soccer team will look to capture a second straight GAC tournament crown as they face off against Ouachita Baptist Thursday in Weatherford, Oklahoma. The third-seeded Bison and No. 4 seed Tigers will kick off at 11 a.m. in the first of two semifinal matches.
Â
OBU will look to avenge its losses earlier this season to the Tigers. Ouachita defeated the Bison, 2-1, on a last-minute goal when the teams met on Oct. 3 in Arkadelphia. OBU suffered the same fate in the matchup in Shawnee on Oct. 26, falling 4-3 in overtime.
Â
The winner of game one Thursday will face off against either No. 1 SWOSU or fourth-seeded Harding in Saturday's championship match, slated for an 11 a.m. kickoff.
Live video of both semifinals, as well as the championship match, will be available on
CoyoteTV with play-by-play from "Voice of the Bulldogs" Stephen McTeer.
OBU enters the tournament as the defending champion, having defeated SWOSU, 3-2, in last year's title match to sweep the regular season and postseason crowns.
The winner of the GAC Tournament earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
