OBU Takes the Chile Pepper Festival

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The OBU women's cross-country team won the Chile Pepper Festival. They won with an overall score of 76 and an average time of 18:41:38.
 
The Bison ended with one runner in the top 10 and four in the top 20. Allison Derry was the team's leading runner finishing in seventh. Derry finished with a time of 18:12.7 just a few seconds behind the sixth-place finisher.
 
Following Derry is Jana Le Roux in 13th (18:36.9), Berkley Price in 16th (18:42.5), Tesa Potter in 19th (18:50.8), and Kayla McGruder rounds out the top five for OBU finishing in 26th (19:04.0).
 
This is the second team win for OBU having won the UCO Land Run earlier this season.
 
Fellow GAC opponent East Central finished second overall 6 points behind OBU.
 
Up next for the Bison is the home Bison Invitational meet next Saturday.
