ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Bison dropped their first Great American Conference contest in nearly two years on Thursday afternoon, falling to Ouachita, 2-1.
Oklahoma Baptist got on the board in the opening half through
Katie Fowler. The freshman forward found the back of the net in the 38th minute of action off a pass from
Abigail Parker to give OBU a 1-0 lead. Unfortunately for the Bison, the Tigers scored two goals in the second half, including the winner in the 89th minute, to hand OBU their first conference loss since Oct. 20, 2017.
Emily Griffith posted four saves as OBU outshot Ouachita, 33-9, for the match.
Oklahoma Baptist (3-4-1, 1-1 GAC) returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 5 when they face Harding in Searcy to close out their tour of Arkansas. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.
