OBU Rebounds, Knocks off Harding

SEARCY, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist rebounded to close out the team's road trip to Arkansas, downing Harding, 3-1. The victory, the Bison's first on the road this year, moves OBU into a tie for first place in the Great American Conference.

It didn't take long for OBU to find the back of the net, taking a one-goal advantage in the fourth minute as Kelsey Bumgarner scored her fifth career goal for the Bison off an assist from Hannah White. Ruth King doubled the advantage, unassisted, in the 23rd minute, though Harding managed to sneak one past Emily Griffith in just two minutes later for the final score of the first half.

Though the Bison had the better chances in the second half, it wasn't until the 84th minute that OBU found their insurance goal. Kelsi Mensen notched her third goal of the season off the assist from Katie Fowler to put the finishing touches on the scoreboard.

Oklahoma Baptist (4-4-1, 2-1 GAC) remains on the road to start next week when they visit Southern Nazarene in Bethany on Tuesday, Oct. 8. The match is set to kick off at 7 p.m.
