SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist volleyball saw their 12-match winning streak snapped on Friday night when they fell, 3-1 (26-24, 25-27, 19-25, 18-25), to visiting Henderson State in Great American Conference action.
Despite scoring 48 kills to the Reddies' 42, the Bison gifted Henderson State 51 points through attack, reception and service errors. The Bison hit a season-low .050 for the evening.
Malia Leatherland led the Bison's scoring effort with a 16-kill performance while also adding 10 digs.
Taneyah Brown was second on the team with nine kills and a career-best 14 digs.
Rylen Moore handed out 30 assists and 18 digs, while
Diana Carranza had a team-high 21 digs.
Oklahoma Baptist (16-4, 5-1 GAC) have a quick turnaround as the Bison are set to host Ouachita Baptist tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. inside Mabee Arena at the Noble Complex. The Bison haven't lost consecutive matches since Oct. 25 of last year and are 3-0 in matches following a loss this season.
