Women Begin Road Trip at Harding

SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist women's basketball team plays the first of two consecutive road games when it travels to face Harding Thursday, Jan. 10 in Searcy, Ark. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. from Rhodes Fieldhouse. OBU is 1-1 this year in true road games, losing at Southwestern Oklahoma and winning at Northwestern Oklahoma.
 
 Last Time Out
  • Oklahoma Baptist picked up an important 76-64 conference victory over visiting Ouachita Baptist Saturday in Shawnee. The win evened the Lady Bison's overall record at 6-6 and 2-4 in the Great American Conference, moving them into a four-way tie for eighth place
  • Autumn Avina scored 18 points and Victoria Blankenship added 16 for the Lady Bison. OBU put three other players in double figures including Kaydee Banks with 14, Katy Custer and Mikaya Shulanberger each added 11 points.
  • Avina had her first triple double of the year finishing with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists and won the GAC and the USWBA Player-of-the-Week award.
  • Blankenship had her fourth double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, Katy Custer had her third double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

 OBU BY THE NUMBERS
  • Oklahoma Baptist is averaging 73.8 points per game, ranking them fourth in the GAC. The Lady Bison are 3-0 in games which they score 77 or more points.
  • Avina is OBU's leading scorer averaging 18.8 points per game and ranks fourth in the conference. She has led the team in scoring six of the team's 12 games this year.
  • Blankenship is averaging 19.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in her last two games. She has recorded two consecutive double-doubles.
  • OBU is shooting 43.1 percent from the field good enough for second place in the GAC statistics. OBU is 3-1 when making better than 45 percent of its shots.
 
HARDING BY THE NUMBERS
  • Harding enters at 8-4 overall and in fifth place at 3-3 in the GAC. They have lost two consecutive falling at East Central (75-66) and Southeastern Oklahoma (74-68 OT)
  • Harding is undefeated in four games at home. The Bisons have won 11 straight at Rhodes Fieldhouse dating back to a Jan. 15, 2018 loss to rival Arkansas Tech.
  • Kelli Lampoo leads Harding in scoring averaging 18.2 points per game. She ranks fifth in the GAC in scoring and has led her team eight different times.
