SHAWNEE –  Oklahoma Baptist returns to GAC action welcoming Henderson State to Mabee Arena at the Noble Complex Thursday night. The Bison will be looking for their fourth conference win in five outings and will try to stay atop the GAC standings. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

As part of OBU Athletics month-long "Fanuary" promotion, special $1 general admission tickets will be available. 

Last Time Out
  • Oklahoma Baptist fell 82-80 on a buzzer-beating put back by visiting Rogers State on Monday. The loss was only OBU's second in five previous home games.  
  • Brantly Thompson led the Bison in scoring for the first time this season pouring in 22 points on eight-of-13 shooting, including three three-point baskets.
  • Antonio Wade also reached double figures with 21 points. It was the third time this season that he has scored 20 or more points in a game. Dishon Lowery had a team-high 11 rebounds. He just missed his fourth double-double of the year finishing with eight points.
     
Scouting the Reddies
  • The Reddies are 8-3 on the year and have won four of their last five games. They are in sixth place in the GAC at 3-2.
  • Henderson averages 79.2 ppg. They are paced by Rel Johnson with 13.3 ppg. Teammate Chris Parker trails closely averaging 12.2 ppg. The Reddies own a + 7.0 scoring margin through 11 games.
  • HSU is outrebounding its opponents by a + 5.0 margin, pulling down nearly 40 rebounds a game.

OBU Offensive Report
  • Oklahoma Baptist is 4-6 overall and are tied with five other teams atop the GAC men's standings at 3-1.
  • OBU averages nearly 84 points per game and trail only Southeastern Oklahoma (85.2) in scoring offense in the GAC.
  • Wade leads the way for the Bison with 17.0 ppg. while Davion Turner and Lowery are averaging 14.0 and 12.2 ppg. apiece.
  • Wade also leads the Bison in assists averaging 5.2 apg., ranking him fifth in the conference.
  • OBU is the second most accurate shooting team in the GAC. The Bison are making nearly 49 percent of their field goal attempts. Only East Central (50.2) is shooting a higher percentage.
