SHAWNEE – After taking the weekend off to face a pair of Lone Star Conference opponents, Oklahoma Baptist volleyball returns their attention to Great American Conference play with a match on Tuesday, Sept. 18 against East Central in Ada, Oklahoma. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.

Oklahoma Baptist (8-10, 2-1 GAC) were handed their first loss against GAC opposition last Thursday and will be looking to get back on track when they make the short road trip to Ada to face the Tigers. East Central (0-15, 0-3 GAC) are riding a 21-match losing streak that goes back to Oct. 20, 2017.

Mikayla Watson leads OBU, and is ranked sixth in the GAC, at 3.28 kills per set, aided by fellow sophomore outside hitter
Malia Leatherland who ranks 10th in the league with 2.97 kills per set.
Hayden Blair and
Jenna Gremmel have combined for 10.68 assists per set to help OBU average 12.06 kills per set while swinging .177.

Defensively, OBU averages 17.95 digs per set while limiting opponents to 11.88 kills/set.
Delayna Mills continues to lead the team at 4.10 digs/set, while
Kelsi Chavez is averaging 4.90 digs/set since taking over as libero during the GAC/MIAA Crossover. The Lady Bison are averaging 1.80 blocks/set, paced by
Brecken Roquemore's 51 total blocks, including five solo stuffs.

East Central's offense ranks last the in the GAC in both hitting percentage (.074) and kills/set (8.10). Karina Erreguin leads the team with 2.48 kills/set, aided by Sydney Dungen's 5.88 assists/set.

On the defensive side, the Tigers are giving up 14.42 kills/set and opponents are hitting .251 against the ECU defense. Abby Wehrman boasts a team-best 4.33 digs/set.
