Josh Timms, moved to the eighth spot in the batting order, responded with two home runs in Oklahoma Baptist's 12-5 win over Arkansas Tech Sunday in the Great American Conference Tournament.

OBU has won its last 22 postseason games, counting its 10-0 runs the previous two seasons in the NCCAA.

The Bison play at 7 p.m. Monday, taking on the winner of the noon elimination game between Arkansas Tech and Southwestern Oklahoma State. Southern Arkansas, who eliminated top-seeded Arkansas-Monticello Sunday, plays a 4 p.m. elimination game against Henderson State.

"Everything's really clicking for us right now," said OBU assistant
Keach Ballard. "We made some adjustments and changed our approach and it worked."

The Bison broke a scoreless tie with a six-run third.

Brett Bloomfield singled, stole second and scored on a two-out error off the bat of
Zane Gelphman. After a walk worked by

PJ Harris rifled a double off the left field wall for two RBIs.

"I've been struggling with the fastball lately and I guess Boss (Head Coach
Bobby Cox) thought I needed to see some more pitches and it paid off," said Timms. "We're just trying to do the best we can, game by game, and everybody is staying locked in."

Matt Poulin was hit by a pitch before

Garrett McKee tripled to complete the cycle for the Bison in the inning, but was left at third.

Arkansas Tech scored in the fourth on one hit and four walks but the Bison used a 4-6-3 double play (McKee to Bloomfield to Harris) to minimize the damage.

The Wonder Boys scored again in the sixth and closed to within 6-5 with three runs in the top of the seventh.

OBU answered with four runs in the home half of the seventh. Gelphman singled and Harris drew a two-out walk before Poulin ripped a two-run double to make it 8-5. Timms then bounced one off the top of the left field wall and out for a two-run home run.

Brett Berghammer walked and scored on a pair of errors and Harris tacked on an RBI single for a 12-5 lead in the eighth.

Timms finished with five RBIs and joined Harris with three hits each to lead the Bison 11-hit attack.

Zach Fowler (8-3) gutted out a nine-hit outing, going 6.2 with four strikeouts.
Caleb Bly closed out the game with three strikeouts and two perfect innings.
