ALVA – Oklahoma Baptist opened its series at Northwestern Oklahoma State with a sweep Thursday, winning 8-4 and 4-2.
 
Dani Manning hit two home runs and drove in five runs in the opener.
 
OBU took a 2-0 lead in the third with Manning swatting a two-run home run.
 
The Lady Bison made it 6-1 in the top of the fourth. 
Hailey Seago walked and moved to second on a base hit by 
Aspen Grimes. 
Kristen Grabin came through with a two-out RBI single before Manning smashed a three-run home run.
 
OBU scored twice more in the fifth with two outs. 
Chandler Roberts singled to move 
Cheyenne Demaree to second and both runners moved up on a passed ball before Grabin came up with a two-run single.
 
Katie Long (6-3) got the win with Roberts going three innings for her second save.
 
OBU had nine hits, including two each by Manning, Grimes and Grabin.
 
In the second game, OBU took a 1-0 lead in the first when Manning singled, moved to second on a sacrifice by 
Katie Reyes and scored on a two-out single by 
Bry Flanagan.
 
The Lady Bison tacked on three more when 
Miranda Garza reached on an error and moved to second on a base hit by Grabin before Demaree tagged a three-run home run to left-center.
 
Bailee Saye allowed two runs over six innings to get the win with 
Amanda Peterson getting the save – her first of the season – with a perfect seventh.
 
OBU had eight hits, including two each by 
Shelby Savage and Grabin.
 
The teams finish the series Friday with a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
