RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist split two games at Arkansas Tech Friday, winning the opener 3-0 before dropping the second game, 7-2.

Katie Long shut out the Golden Suns on five hits in the first game, striking out two and inducing 18 fly outs.

Dani Manning drove in all three runs, starting with a solo home run in the third inning.

Aspen Grimes was hit by a pitch and moved to second on a single by
Kristen Grabin and eventually scored on a ground out by Manning.

Long walked in the sixth and moved to third on singles by Grimes and Grabin before scoring on a sacrifice fly by Manning.

OBU had six hits, including two each by
Shelby Savage and Grabin.

The Lady Bison took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of the second game when
Katie Reyes singled and eventually scored when Savage drew a bases-loaded walk.

Tech scored five runs in the bottom of the first and never trailed again.

OBU got one back in the second when Grimes singled, moved to second on a sacrifice by Grabin and scored on a base hit by Reyes.

The Lady Bison had seven hits, led by Reyes with three and Grabin with two.

The teams finish the series with a noon doubleheader Saturday.
