SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist women's lacrosse volunteered at Children's Hospital Colorado in Denver Wednesday while on their annual Spring Break road trip.
Â
The Lady Bison interacted with children during the afternoon in a meet and greet. OBU student-athletes also assisted in arts and crafts projects.
Â
"I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve the communities that we get to play in. These children are such a gift and their everyday strength is inspiring. I love that OBU lacrosse gives us these opportunities to love on people," said senior attack
Maysn Ungerer.
Â
Children's Hospital Colorado was established in 1908 to treat children of all ages and at all stages of life. The hospital sees and treats more child patients than any hospital in a seven-state region and provides cutting edge treatments.
Â
"I think it's important to go out and help the community," said freshman goalkeeper
Olivia Ward. "Going to a children's hospital is especially important to me because my sister battled two rounds of cancer there. So knowing what a lot of these kids are going through is hard but I'm so glad we could help brighten their day."
