Juan Gonzalez belted out a school-record six hits, leading Oklahoma Baptist to a 14-8 win over Oklahoma Christian in the Bison's first road game of the season.

The Bison catcher was 6-6 with two doubles, a home run, two RBI and three runs. Gonzalez also was perfect in 14 defensive chances, including catching a would-be base stealer.

Zane Gelphman ripped two home runs and a double.
Â
OBU stroked 23 hits and hit .442 for the game.
Brett Berghammer had four hits, including a double,
Josh Timms drove in four runs on a double and two singles,
Garrett McKee had three hits and
Brock Carter had two.

Through four games, the Bison are hitting .470 and averaging 17 runs per game.

OBU scored first in their initial inning, getting a two out double by Gelphman ahead of an RBI single by Timms.

Oklahoma Christian scored twice in the bottom of the first but the Bison answered with five runs in the third. Gelphman homered to tie the game. Gonzalez singled and after a double by
Jake Gozzo, scored on a passed ball.
PJ Harris added an RBI single and scored on a wild pitch after a double by Carter. McKee singled home Carter for the 6-2 lead.

Gelphman homered again with one out in the fourth to make it 7-2.

After the Eagles got one run back in the fourth, OBU picked up four in the fifth on a three-run double by Timms and an RBI double by Gonzalez.

The Eagles scored to make it 11-4 but Gonzalez doubled and scored on a wild pitch in the seventh to make it 12-4.

OBU scored its final two runs in the ninth when Gonzalez got the school record with a solo home run and McKee singled in Carter.

Albertus Barber (2-0) picked up the win with seven strikeouts over four innings.
Thomas Shroder pitched two scoreless with three strikeouts. Four Bison pitchers combined to strike out 13 batters.

The same two teams meet again Friday at 2 p.m., this time at Bison Field at Ford Park.
