SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist lacrosse returns to the field Saturday for a 1 p.m. home opener against Missouri Baptist at the OBU Lacrosse Complex.

The Lady Bison (1-1) resume the 2018 schedule following two weeks with no competitions. OBU has averaged 8.50 goals per game on a .309 shooting percentage while allowing 5.50 goals and .268 shooting in the two previous contests.

OBU ranks in the top-20 in pace of play for the second straight season, according to AnalyticsLacrosse.com. The Lady Bison are 17
th at 93.5 after finishing 18
th (94.6) in 2017. Oklahoma Baptist has dominated the center circle, winning 24 draw controls while only allowing eight.

Allison Ingrim and
Taylor Skomp lead the way with four goals each, while
Breanna Wichert has scored three goals.
Lauren McCormack owns the team lead with six points, including two goals and team-high four assists. Ingrim scooped up eight ground balls and has nine caused turnovers to lead the team. Wichert paces OBU with nine draw controls and is one of three Lady Bison with a shooting percentage of .500, along with Skomp and
Katie Kuehn.Â

Sophomore goalkeeper
Courtney Barnickle is 1-1 on the season with a .565 save percentage and 6.67 goals-allowed average. Barnickle has played 90 of the 120 total minutes in goal for the Lady Bison this season. Freshman
Olivia Ward is allowing 2.00 goals on a .750 save percentage.

Saturday's game will mark the season opener for Missouri Baptist. Last season, the Spartans averaged 9.20 goals on a .362 shooting percentage and gave up 10.40 goals on .373 shooting. Stacy Rohan led the team with 15 goals and 24 ground balls and McKenna Fisher won 24 draw controls and finished with a team-high 11 caused turnovers. Kaitlin Mills had a 3-1 record in goal with a 9.81 goals-allowed average and a save percentage of .580.
