BETHANY, Okla. – The Bison battled until the final buzzer but dropped a 99-96 decision to Washburn in their GAC-MIAA Challenge opener Friday evening.
A potential game-winning three from sophomore
Brantly Thompson just missed the mark as OBU was forced to foul, and the Ichabods were able to escape with the three point victory.
Antonio Wade led the way for the Bison with 30 points in his first official action in the green and gold.
Davion Turner chipped in 14 points, while
Dishon Lowery (13 points, team-high eight rebounds),
Harrison Stoddart (12 points), and
Caleb Norris (12 points) all scored in double figures for OBU.
As a team, the Bison shot an impressive 65.2 percent from three-point range for the game.
OBU faces Nebraska-Kearney in the tournament finale at 3 p.m. Saturday from the Sawyer Center.
