SHAWNEE – A short week for Oklahoma Baptist sees the Lady Bison head to Alva on Thursday, Oct. 25 for a 7 p.m. meeting with Northwestern Oklahoma State for the squad's only match of the week.
 
With three matches left in the regular season, Oklahoma Baptist (14-15, 7-6 GAC) sit in sixth place, a half-match ahead of Southern Nazarene. Northwestern (15-12, 4-8 GAC) are currently in eighth place, the final spot for a ticket to the Great American Conference Tournament. With one more win, OBU will secure their second-straight berth to the GAC Tournament since becoming full members of Division II last year.
 
The Lady Bison can claim their second season sweep with a victory over the Rangers on Thursday night. Oklahoma Baptist dropped Northwestern, 3-1, at Mabee Arena to open league play last month. Mikayla Watson had a match-best 16 kills to lead OBU to victory on that night.
 
Oklahoma Baptist ranks fifth in the GAC at 12.85 kills/set, led by Watson's 3.46 kills/set, the fourth-best individual mark in the league. Fellow outside hitter Malia Leatherland ranks sixth in the GAC with 3.20 kills/set, while Hayden Blair is averaging 9.42 assists/set since taking over the primary setter role.
 
Opponents are averaging only 11.89 kills/set, the fourth-best defensive mark in the league, while hitting .193. Kelsi Chavez is ninth in the conference with a mark of 4.22 digs/set. Brecken Roquemore leads the Lady Bison at .84 blocks/set.
 
Northwestern averages 12.60 kills/set, led by Hannah William's 2.97 kills/set which ranks 10th in the league. Kaitlyn Robinson averages 7.68 assists/set. Defensively, the Rangers average only 15.57 digs/set, paced by Dani Dagley's 3.34 digs/set.
