Lacrosse Picked Eighth in RMAC Poll

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist is picked to finish eighth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, according to the preseason coaches' poll released Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Bison received 20 points in the poll, ahead of University of Colorado Colorado Springs with 16 points and Adams State in 10th at 15 points. OBU finished 4-10 last season, including a 2-7 record in the first season competing in the RMAC.

"I think, given last year's results and how much we graduated, I think it's a fair place in the poll for us. We have a lot of unproven skill on the team," said OBU head coach Jordan Beech.

"At the same time though, we are getting more respect. This time last year we were picked to finish dead last, and we showed that we can play with some of the teams. Obviously, we still need to take a jump to really be considered elite in the conference, but we're making strides in that regard."
