McKenzie Cooper scored her 1,000
th career points in a 90-81 Lady Bison win over Southeastern Oklahoma State Thursday.

Cooper drained a three-pointer for her 24
th point of the night and 1,000
th point of her career with 40 seconds left in the third quarter.

Cooper finished the night with a game-high 34 points, going 10 of 14 from the field while hitting all nine of her free throws.

Lexi Williams scored 17 and
Shaylan Coleman and freshman
Sydney Hein added 13 apiece with Hein scoring in double figures for the first time.

The Lady Bison led by as many as nine in the first quarter with Cooper scoring nine points in the frame. OBU had a 17-14 edge going into the second quarter.

Southeastern took a brief lead in the second quarter but OBU used a 10-0 run, including five points each by Cooper and Williams, to gain a 29-18 lead with 5:29 left in the half.

The Savage Storm was able to trim that back to 40-34 deficit by the half.

SOSU narrowed the lead to a point in the third quarter, but four Lady Bison contributed in a 13-0 run to build a 67-53 lead. That run included Cooper's milestone basket. The quarter ended with OBU ahead 67-55.

The Savage Storm got as close as seven in the fourth quarter as OBU finished the game at 95.8 percent (23-24) at the free throw line.

Tasha Edge led the team with six rebounds.
Autumn Avina had six assists with Coleman contributing five. Coleman also led with four steals.

The Lady Bison return to action Saturday in Alva, visiting Northwestern Oklahoma State in a 1 p.m. contest.
