SHAWNEE – After three weeks and 13 matches away from the Noble Complex, Oklahoma Baptist volleyball hosts Southeastern Oklahoma State Tuesday night in the home opener.

The Lady Bison (6-7, 1-0 GAC) began the Great American Conference season last week with a 3-1 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State. OBU took full advantage of the rare opportunity to exact revenge against a non-conference opponent when they defeated Emporia State in five sets to wrap up the GAC-MIAA Crossover Saturday. The Hornets bested the Lady Bison in five the prior week. This marks the 10

Oklahoma Baptist picks up 12.2 kills per set on a .194 attack percentage, and leads the GAC with 2.29 blocks per set. Senior
Cadyn Laing has excelled since switching from middle hitter to right-side hitter, averaging 2.75 kills and 1.07 blocks per set since the transition.
Mikayla Watson paces the team with 2.78 kills and
Hayden Blair posts 7.62 assists per set. Since taking over as libero,
Suzanny Figueiredo is picking up 4.45 digs per set.

Tuesday's match is the first GAC competition for the Savage Storm (4-8, 0-0 GAC) in 2017. SOSU averages 12.1 kills per set on .150 attacking, which ranks 11
th in the conference. Abby Jameson leads the way with 3.55 kills per set and Arianna Baker posts 0.67 blocks per frame. Alissa Benson adds 9.35 assists as the primary setter and Caitlin Cosby cleans up the back row to a tune of 5.41 digs per set, second-best in the GAC. The Savage Storm allow 2.10 blocks to opponents while sending back only 1.33 blocks per set, and enter Tuesday with a minus-30 block differential.
