SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist volleyball heads to the GAC/MIAA Crossover this weekend in the final regular season tournament of the year for the team. The Lady Bison will play two matches Friday in Edmond and an additional two matches Saturday in Bethany.

Friday's matches will be played at Hamilton Field House on the campus of Central Oklahoma. Following a 10 a.m. meeting with Southwest Baptist, the Lady Bison will take on No. 13 Central Oklahoma on their home court.

OBU picked up a 3-1 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State Tuesday in the first Great American Conference match of the season. The Lady Bison attack at a rate of .205 and pick up 12.4 kills per set.
Mikayla Watson has a team-high 2.87 kills per set and
Hayden Blair provides 7.16 assists.
Cadyn Laing and
Sophia Couto each average 1.18 blocks and
Suzanny Figueiredo has picked up 4.00 digs in six matches.

The Bearcats (0-8) are still searching for their first victory of 2017 after winning just three total sets in the first eight contests of the season. SBU picks up 9.7 kills per set on .111 attack percentage. Katie Robinson and Dana Neal share the team lead with 2.00 kills per set and Robinson also adds 1.11 blocks. Brea Freeman averages 4.85 assists per set and Bailey Baumann earns 3.52 digs per set.

UCO enters Friday on a six match winning streak, having dropped just one set during the run. As a team, the Bronchos (9-1) hit .243 and own a plus-28.5 blocking differential entering the tournament. Taylor Bevis paces the team with 4.91 kills per set and McKenzie Fyfe assists at a clip of 9.07 per set. On the back row Dominique Lipari has 4.48 digs and the net is guarded by Alexis Washington to the tune of 1.24 blocks.

Oklahoma Baptist will wrap up the tournament Saturday, facing Fort Hays State at 10 a.m. A rematch with Emporia State closes out tournament play at 4 p.m. in the second match between the schools in seven days.Â
