Lady Bison Split at SWOSU

WEATHERFORD – Shelby Savage helped Oklahoma Baptist salvage a split at Southwestern Oklahoma State Friday.
 
OBU lost the opener, 3-2, but won the second game 10-7 as Savage collected four hits.
 
OBU tied the opening game in the top of the fifth on a solo home run by Miranda Garza. The Lady Bison got their lone lead in the game in the top of the sixth on an RBI double by Bry Flanagan.
 
Southwestern tied the game in the bottom of the sixth with two outs and won it with a walk-off walk with two outs in the seventh.
 
The Lady Bison had six hits, including two by Flanagan.
 
OBU took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of the second game with Savage singling and scoring on an error.
 
The Lady Bison trailed 3-1 before Bailee Saye singled in two runs in the third to tie the score.
 
OBU took a 4-3 lead in the fourth on an RBI single by Savage and a 6-3 advantage on a two-run home run by Jill Shipman in the fifth.
 
The Bulldogs tied the game in the fifth, but Madison Vaughan hit a two-run home run in the sixth.
 
Sam Barry and Savage added RBI singles in the top of the seventh for a 10-6 lead.
 
OBU had 14 hits in the game. In addition to Savage's four, the Lady Bison got two each by Cheyenne Demaree and Vaughan.
 
Haylee Zimmerman, 8-8,  got the decision in both games.
