SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist scored 15 runs on 12 hits, taking the season series from Dallas Christian with a 15-3 win Monday.

Dallas Christian struck first with a run in the top of the first.

That lead had a short life span, however, as OBU scored three times in their first turn at the plate, getting a run on a wild pitch and two more on a single by
Nick Burnham.

The Bison added two in the second when
Hunter Heath and Joe Moran were hit and walked with the bases loaded.

Juan Gonzalez added an RBI double and Moran a sacrifice fly for a 7-1 lead in the fourth.

OBU tacked on seven runs in the fifth inning, including an RBI double by
Austin Cooper, a two-run single by
Kevin Olmeda, another RBI walk by Moran, a two-run double by
Bob English and an RBI ground out by
Austin Whittaker.

Zane Gelphman homered to left in the sixth for the final Bison run.

Blake Whitehead (3-0) pitched six innings and allowed one unearned run and
Brad Adams had a spotless frame in relief.

Olmeda, Gelphman and Gonzalez had two hits apiece for the Bison.

Now 21-12 on the season, the Bison are scheduled to host Bacone in a 6 p.m. contest Wednesday. That game originally was scheduled for Tuesday.
