SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist split a second consecutive doubleheader with Northwestern Oklahoma State Saturday, losing 6-1 before ending the season series with a 3-2 win.

The Lady Bison got their lone run of the opener on a
Bry Flanagan RBI single in the sixth inning. OBU had three hits – singles by
Miranda Garza,
Shelby Savage and Flanagan.

The second game saw the Lady Bison fall behind 1-0 before taking a 2-1 lead in the third inning on a two-run double by Garza.

Northwestern knotted the score in the fifth.

Freshman
Cheyenne Demaree, who belted a walk-off home run to defeat Arkansas Tech last weekend, ripped a home run off the top of the right field wall and onto the scoreboard for the difference-maker.

OBU made the most of its four hits in the game, getting a double and a single by
Jill Shipman to go with Garza's double and Demaree's home run.

Sam Barry, for the doubleheader, was hit by pitch five times.

The Lady Bison play the next six games on the road, beginning with a Tuesday doubleheader at Southern Nazarene, starting at 2 p.m.
