SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist got five hits from
Jill Shipman in a split with Rogers State Tuesday, losing 3-1 before getting a 7-4 victory.

Bailee Saye (2-6) took the route-going loss despite allowing no earned runs. She also had the team's lone RBI, ripping a sixth-inning home run.

OBU had eight hits in the opener with Shipman getting two singles and
Morgan Hughes adding a double.

The Lady Bison fell behind 3-0 in the second game before
Haylee Zimmerman (6-5) righted the ship in the circle and gave the team a chance to regroup.

OBU got a run in the third when Shipman doubled with two outs and scored on an error.

Shipman singled up the middle to plate Hughes in the fourth to make it a 3-2 game.

The Lady Bison then exploded for five runs in the fifth. Saye tied the game with an RBI double and scored the go-ahead run on a pinch hit single by
Miranda Garza.
Cheyenne Demaree, who had a walk-off home run Saturday, ripped a three-run homer for a 7-3 lead.

The Hillcats scored once in the sixth but
McKenzie Jones came on for the six-out save.

OBU had a dozen hits in the game, including three by Shipman and two each by
Madison Vaughan and
Rachel Birchfield.

Now 11-17, the Lady Bison host Northwestern Oklahoma State for a weekend series with doubleheaders at 4 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
