Lacrosse Heads West for RMAC Road Trip

 

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist kicks off a three-game Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference road trip Tuesday at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
 
This will be the first RMAC road game for the Lady Bison, who are competing in the conference for the first time this season. OBU looks to bounce back from a tough loss to 18^th-ranked Regis last Saturday in the first RMAC matchup in program history.
 
The Lady Bison score 9.20 goals per game on a .324 shot percentage. They average 28.4 shots per game while limiting opponents to just 23.6 shot attempts.
 
Freshman attack Lauren McCormack leads the team with eight goals scored and 24 draw controls. Alexis Martin has recorded a team-high three assists, and senior Hannah Dowell paces OBU with 17 ground balls.
 
Midfielder Allison Ingrim has caused problems for opposing offenses this season, causing 11 turnovers. The Lady Bison have 65 takeaways as a team.
 
Freshman Courtney Barnickle will make her sixth consecutive start in goal. She has a goals-allowed average of 12.68 and has recorded 31 saves.
 
Westminster is 3-1 in four road games this season, having dropped the season opener to Colorado Mesa 18-8. In the conference opener for the Griffins last week, they defeated University of Colorado at Colorado Springs 21-4.
 
Tuesday's matchup will be the home opener for Westminster, a team that averages 17.50 goals per game. The Griffins have been turnover-prone, entering the game with 88 turnovers and 57 caused turnovers.
 
Kira Heiden has found the back of the net 18 times this year, and Katie Adams has added 16 goals. Taylor Hekking has four starts in the net, making 23 saves while allowing 13.76 goals per game.
 
The season-high three game road stretch continues Thursday for OBU at Colorado Mesa, ending Saturday at Fort Lewis College.
