SHAWNEE – Henderson State claimed a 7-6 win over Oklahoma Baptist Saturday to take the series 2-1.

OBU tied the score, 1-1 in the first, on an RBI double by
Zane Gelphman.

The Reddies took a 4-1 lead but OBU cut it to 4-2 in the fourth on a home run by Gelphman.

The Bison trailed 7-2 but OBU cut into that HSU lead with an RBI grounder by
Kyle Abblitt and an RBI single by
Juan Gonzalez in the seventh.

OBU cut the deficit to the final margin with two runs in the eighth on a two-run double by
Dustyn Cook.

The Bison had eight hits, including two by Gelphman.

Carson McPherson took the pitching loss.
Jace Wilkins struck out three batters in the ninth for the only scoreless outing among the four Bison pitchers in action Saturday.

Now 8-4, the Bison return to action Tuesday for a 1 p.m. game at Northeastern State in Tahlequah.
