Â
The offense for Oklahoma Baptist (0-2) will look to improve against the Vikings after averaging just eight goals per game last weekend.
Lauren McCormack currently leads the offense with six goals, while
Breanna Wichert and
Alexis Martin have both tallied three. Four other Lady Bison have one goal, and Martin has the team's only assist in two games.
Â
Defensively, OBU is giving up an average of 15.5 goals per game, though 21 of their 31 conceded came against last season's No. 1-ranked offense in Division II.
Courtney Barnickle currently boasts a .426 save percentage after facing 60 shots, saving 20.
Haley Ballard and
Paige Morrison are joint leaders in groundballs, accounting for one-third of the team's 30 groundballs. Morrison also leads the squad with five caused turnovers, all coming against Alabama-Huntsville in the season opener.
Â
Missouri Valley (0-0) is the third-straight opponent to open their season against Oklahoma Baptist this campaign. The Vikings' leading scorer last year, Myleka Booze, returns to lead the offense after scoring 29 goals last year, though she is the only returning scorer who tallied double digit goals last season. April Hennen will feature in goal again this season for MVC after posting a 4.44 goals-against average in six games last year.
Â
This is the first all-time meeting between the two teams after a game between OBU and MVC was cancelled at the end of last season.
