SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist heads to Southwestern for a 7:30 p.m. game Thursday, it's last road contest of the season.
 
Southwestern Oklahoma State is 6-17 overall and 3-14 in the Great American Conference after ending a six-game slide with a home win over rival Northwestern Oklahoma State Monday, 73-67. Markeise Champion leads the team in scoring at 14.7 points per game with Devin Pugh chipping in 13.2.
 
Chandler Rickey leads the Bison in scoring at 15.6 points, rebounds at 7.0 and blocked shots with 59, which also leads the GAC.
 
Travon Moore scored 19 points, 
Kevin Franceschi added 16 and Valdimir Nemcok 12 to go with six assists in OBU's 83-73 loss to the Bulldogs.  Markeise Champion had 23 points and Rashardd Harris came off the bench for 20 for Southwestern.
 
While not the most prolific, the OBU-Southwestern series is the oldest on the OBU books, dating back to 1911-12 when Southwestern recorded a 31-25 win against OBU in the first Bison season of competition. Southwestern holds a three-game win streak in the series and is 3-0 against OBU as Great American Conference rivals.
