Down 24-3, OBU got back into the game on a 47-yard TD pass from Haire to Josh Pettijohn to make it 24-10 with 7:41 remaining in the third quarter.

OBU pulled to within 31-24 with eight minutes left as Haire orchestrated a 76-yard drive. Haire passed to Cagney Roberson for gains of 22 and 28 yards before finding Nick Hinkley for a 17-yard touchdown.

OBU got the ball back late and after four rushes and a short pass, Haire took off on a 39-yard run to the Northwestern five with 1:26 to play in the fourth quarter.

After a pass interference penalty against NWOSU and a one-yard run by Frankie Edwards, the Rangers came up with an interception in the end zone with 61 seconds remaining in the game.
