SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist launches its women's basketball season at noon, taking on Missouri Southern in the MIAA-GAC Crossover.

The Lady Bison are 1-3 all-time against the Lions, including an 83-81 setback last year in the season opener.

OBU has already been beset by injuries.
Katy Custer, who started against Wichita State in an exhibition, is lost for the season. Custer, who had 20 points last season against MSSU, joins Imari Bell on the list of important forwards who are not expected to play this season.

Tasha Edge and Kadesha Cooper will shoulder more of the load with Allies Fuller coming off the bench.
Autumn Avina, Shaylan Coleman and
McKenzie Cooper round out the expected starting five.

Fuller had 14 points and nine rebounds against Wichita State, while Edge and Avina had 10 points apiece.

McKenzie Cooper added 15 against MSSU last season.

Chelsey Henry, a 5-10 junior, averaged 10.3 points last season and joins an expected starting lineup that also includes newcomers Dru Clark and Zoe Campbell, as well as returners Jasmine Green (7.0 ppg) and Jensen Maydew (7.6 ppg).
