Volleyball Falls at Washburn

TOPEKA, Kan. – (HTML Box Score) Oklahoma Baptist dropped the final non-conference match of the season 1-3 (23-25, 22-25, 26-24, 23-25) to Washburn at Lee Arena Saturday evening.

The Lady Bison (15-12) finished 1-1 on the day after defeating Fort Hays State on a neutral court earlier this afternoon.

OBU was tied at 20-20 in both the first and second sets, but the Ichabods twice pulled away late to open up a 2-0 lead. The Lady Bison trailed by five at 12-17 in the third and stormed back to take an 18-17 lead. Washburn had match point at 23-24, but three straight points from OBU sealed the win and forced a fourth set. OBU saw a late 22-20 lead evaporate in the fourth set as the Ichabods closed on a 5-1 run to clinch the match.

Cadyn Laing picked up 20 kills to pace the Lady Bison and Mikayla Watson registered her second double-double of the day with 15 kills and 14 digs. Hayden Blair finished with 46 assists and Kelsi Chavez had 22 digs to lead the team.
