SHAWNEE – OBU men's basketball opens the second round of Great American Conference play against Henderson State at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Â
READY REDDIES:
After being picked next to last in the preseason GAC polls, Henderson State has only lost five of their past 11 conference games, but slide into Thursday off of a four-game losing streak to the likes of Arkansas-Monticello, Ouachita, Arkansas Tech and Harding. In their last bout with the Bison in Arkadelphia, the Reddies had five players score in double figures, as Ben Marello recorded 17 points and 10 boards. As a team, HSU averages 47 percent from the field.
Â
GRINDING BISON:
OBU rolls into a week of home games after a one-win first half of conference play. Despite the record, the Bison have been competitive in conference, outscoring half of their opponents in their respective first halves. Against HSU in November,
Kevin Franceschi poured in 23 points, shooting 50 percent from the field.
Steven Green recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards.
Chandler Rickey leads the team in scoring, averaging 15 points per contest.
