JOPLIN, Mo. – Oklahoma Baptist posted 54 NCCAA national qualifying marks at the Missouri Southern State Lion Open.

The Lady Bison met 35 qualifying marks, with the Bison adding 19.

Four Lady Bison met the qualifying standard in the 60 meters, paced by
McKae Mitchell at 7.93.
Shariah Anderson (8.02),
Ruth King (8.08), and
Candis Rodgers (8.10) also qualified.
Â
OBU had six runners qualify in the 200 meters. Mitchell finished runner-up in a qualifying time of 25.54, followed by
Kya Barnes (26.02),
Leah Molter (26.78), Anderson (26.91), Rodgers (26.92), and King (27.45).

Mitchell won the 400 meters in a qualifying time of 57.30, which was the fastest time in the NCCAA this season. She now owns the top times in both the 200 and 400 meters.

Breanna Hurlbut (1:00.89), Abby Mayfield (1:01.91), and King (1:02.22) also qualified in the 400.

Although it is not an event at the NCCAA National Championship, Barnes won the 600 yards with a time of 1:26.19.

Destinee Allen finished runner-up in the 800 meters in a qualifying time of 2:20.16, which is the second-fastest time in the NCCAA this year.
Shimoya Currie also qualified with a time of 2:22.44, and
Sarah Gilstad met the standard at 2:26.67.

Four qualifying times were met in the 3000 meters, paced by
Sydney Lawrence at 10:22.76, the fourth-best time in the NCCAA.
Emily Sechrist (10:30.69),
Kaylee Large (10:34.79), and
Daisy VanMeter (10:59.33) all qualified.

Large also qualified in the 5000 meters with the third-fastest time in the NCCAA at 18:21.92. Sechrist (18:37.15),
Megan Allen (19:35.68), and
Lauren Franz (19:45.56) also met the standard.

Molter (8.88),
Lacey Herbert (9.65),
Kimberly Mead (10.18),
Carleigh Neal (10.28), and
Sydney Long (10.30) qualified in the 60 meter hurdles.

There is no qualifying standard for the 4x400 meter relay, but a team of Mitchell, Allen, Hurlbut, and Barnes finished third with a time of 3:58.10, the fastest time in the NCCAA this season.

A team of Golstad, VanMeter,
Tesa Potter, and
Zoya Timoshenko had the fastest distance medley relay in the NCCAA this year at 12:40.34.

Maggie Smith met the standard in the high jump at 1.55 meters, Mead had a distance of 5.31m in the long jump to qualify.

Payton Wilson qualified in the pole vault at 2.85 meters.

Brittany Poe (11.67m) and
Hollie Johnson (10.80m) met the standard in the shot put.

For the Bison,
Devontrae Young qualified in the 60 meters in 7.18.

Noah McGraw met the qualifying standard in the 400 at 51.34, the eighth-fastest time in the NCCAA this season.

Carlos James finished third in the 800 with a qualifying time of 1:58.37, the NCCAA's second-fastest time this season.

Nathan Crowson posted the sixth-best time in the NCCAA, qualifying in the mile at 4:27.27.

Jacob Janzen qualified in the 3000 in 8:51.94, the seventh-fastest time in the NCCAA. Janzen won the 5000 with the third-fastest time of the year in a qualifying time of 15:27.46.

Blaine Whitson also qualified in the 5000, posting the fourth-fastest time of the year at 15:44.59.

Four Bison qualified in the 60 meter hurdles, paced by
Brandon Crowley in 8.59.
Dakota Kappelle (8.82),
Cayden Spain (8.82), and
Andrew Worley (8.99) met the standard.

A team of
Matthew Giudice, McGraw, Young, and James posted the second-fastest time in the NCCAA this season in the 4x400 medley relay with a time of 3:27.08.

DeAngelo Robles, McGraw, Giudice, and
Garrett Elmore finished the DMR with the second-best time of the year in 10:40.72.

Worley (1.95m) and
Hayden Ashley (1.85m) each met the standard in the high jump. Ashley also qualified in the long jump at 6.68m.

Five Bison met the qualifying standard in the pole vault.
Spencer Lashley (4.55m), Phillip Spess (4.40m), Ashley (4.25m),
Luke Cusack (4.10m), and Worley (3.90m) each qualified.

Jacob Cochran qualified in the shot put with a distance of 14.34m.

Zachary Medeiros met the standard in the weight throw at 13.16m.

The Bison and Lady Bison will return to the track on Jan. 28 at Pittsburg State in Pittsburg, Kansas.
